Reponse to website attacking The Great Zapruder Film Hoax by “The Gang”

In late October 2003, a group of so-called assassination “researchers”, known throughout the research community as “The Gang”, publicly released a website attacking the book on the assassination that I recently contributed to, The Great Zapruder Film Hoax (see above).

The thesis of The Gang’s website is that The Great Zapruder Film Hoax is so badly written, and so full of “sloppy research” and wrong results, that it is not even worth reading.

My detailed responses to their claims can be viewed by clicking here.

ABC (US) special “proved” that Oswald acted alone to kill Kennedy

On 20 November 2003, two days before the 40th anniversary of the JFK assassination, the ABC (US) network aired a special which purported to use computer animation technology to “prove” that the Warren Commission was right in concluding that alleged assassin Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone to kill the President.

My initial comments on the special were posted on all JFK assassination forums and newsgroups on the Internet. You can read a copy of them here.

Extracts from the ABC (US) special were shown widely throughout the world (including here in Australia, on the Nine Network’s Sunday program). The special effects were well done, but scientifically they are worthless.

The special did not even address the fact that the Zapruder film—on which the simulations were based—has been proved to be a fake!

The evidence is overwhelming that Lee Harvey Oswald most likely did not fire a shot at all on that fateful day in 1963—he was, as he claimed, simply a patsy.

The current state of knowledge about this episode in world history is well summarised in Murder in Dealey Plaza: What we know now that we didn’t know then about the death of JFK.
